After 3 years faced with a pandemic and personal challenges, one of Africa's most successful music artists, Davido, released his fourth studio album on Friday, March 31st. Timeless will be Davido's first album release since his 2020 project, A Better Time.
Davido also shared more news about his global partnership with the athletic brand, Puma. His collection is set to release on April 7th and underscores the rapidly growing African market.
The award winning musician first made his new album announcement across social media last week by posting a video montage mapping the past 11 years of his career. Millions of Davido fans and supporters responded positively to the news while several posted comments saying, "welcome back."
After the sudden loss of his son in 2022, Davido took an extended break from the public and married his son's mother, Chioma Rowland.
“There is a time for everything. A time to grieve and a time to heal," Davido said in-part.
Across Timeless' 17 tracks, Davido speaks of strength and romance while featuring other artists from the continent like Skepta and Asake. Already, Davido has his first three tour dates lined up for April, taking place in New York, London, and Lagos, Nigeria.
With over 2 billion streams and over 1 billion video views across his 11-year career, the American born, Nigerian raised artist has been a leader connecting the world to Afrobeats. Following 2 sold out shows at London’s O2 Arena and a 2022 World Cup performance seen by over 250 million viewers, he is currently the most followed Afrobeats artist across social media.
