Most 2-year-old children speak only a few words and are just learning how to draw, but one South African boy was different. By the time he was 2, Oratilwe AJ Hlongwane was DJing under the name DJ Arch Junior.
Hlongwane has been interested in music since he was 8 months old. His father, who is a DJ, took notice of this interest and exposed Hlongwane to the art of DJing just after his first birthday. After his father decided to post a YouTube video of the child prodigy, many were amazed by his unbelievable work, and the video went viral. It did not take long before DJ Arch Junior's skills, fan base, and influence grew.
When he was just three years old, DJ Arch Junior competed on South Africa's Got Talent. His audition video gained over 2 million views on YouTube in less than a week. Night after night, he blew the crowd away with his explosive performances, and in the end, he won the competition.
By age 5, DJ Arch Junior had secured the Guinness World Records title for the youngest performing club DJ. At age 6, he competed in America's Got Talent: Champions Edition. On this global stage, the passionate young DJ amazed even the most stoic judge, Simon Cowell, who said, "You and I need to talk for sure because I have some plans for you after this show, trust me."
Since his time on the show, DJ Arch Junior has received massive support from his fan base, including retweets from the multiple-award-winning African DJ Black Coffee and the South African government's official account.
Today, DJ Arch Junior is consistently booked for concerts, children's parties, and festivals. We are keen to see how he proceeds in his career, and we wish him the best of luck! Watch his first performance on America's Got Talent: The Champions on YouTube now:
