The Nigerian Afrofusion musician, Burna Boy, revealed on Monday that he will perform at New York‘s Citi Field on July 8th and as of Friday, tickets are live. With a venue capacity of 41,800, it will be Burna Boy's largest performance in North America and would make him the first Nigerian artist to headline a U.S. stadium.

The announcement comes after Burna Boy made history by becoming the first Nigerian artist to sell out Madison Square Garden in New York City a year earlier, in April 2022.

His New York performance is only one stop on his 2023 tour. To celebrate his Grammy-nominated album, Love, Damini, released in 2022, tour stops include the U.S., England, Portugal, Denmark, Czech Republic, and Sweden to name a few. The album features notable artists like Popcaan and Ed Sheeran and includes two popular singles, "Kilometre" and "Last Last."

The Grammy award-winner, known for his energetic performances, frequently incorporates drummers and dancers to enhance the experience for concert-goers while using music to promote African culture and bring attention to pressing concerns affecting the continent. Ticket prices for Burna Boy's Citi Field show range from close to $55 to $255.

Upcoming Love, Damini tour dates and locations are this Saturday, April 8th in Oakland, California, April 12th in Dallas, Texas, and April 14th and 21st in Indio, California during Coachella. Burna Boy will perform at other stadiums in Paris, London, and Arnhem, Netherlands beginning in May.
