The first Amapiano and Wine Festival will debut at the Bullpen in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, October 8th at 2pm. The festival aims to celebrate culture by blending African music and wine in a unique and exciting way.
As Afrobeats and, more recently, South Africa's Amapiano genre gain popularity, Amapiano and Wine is dedicated to offering a window into Africa's rich and dynamic culture for its US and diasporian audience. Guests will be immersed in local and international music curated by private DJs while having the opportunity to enjoy exquisite wine tasting.
“Amapiano and Wine is for international enthusiasts that love house music and Afrobeats and for wine lovers seeking a thrilling experience," said Kafui Attakpah, the co-founder of Amapiano and Wine Festival. "All are welcome to discover a new and contagious sound.”
The festival includes cultural dance performances, a marketplace showcasing Black-owned vendors, and an interactive photo booth experience, among other attractions. Event tickets currently range from $25 to $160 USD, with options for VIP access and afterparty entry.
