Brett Hankison, one of the officers who was involved in #BreonnaTaylor shooting, has been indicted by a grand jury on three counts of wanton endangerment. If proven guilty, Hankison could serve up to 5 years in prison. Hankison was also fired in June from LMPD. The other officers were not charged.
The three counts of wanton endangerment are about Breonna Taylor’s neighbors and is not related to Breonna’s killing. Shots had entered into three surrounding apartments at the time. Currently, there are no charges for Breonna Taylor’s death.
Many are saying the indictment itself was not enough.
Understand he was NOT charged in Breonna Taylor’s death. He was charged for firing bullets that entered into other apartments, endangering those occupants. This is NOT justice for Breonna.— I’m A Cool Mom (@TrillxMomma) September 23, 2020
They killed her. And not only did not refuse to charge her killers... they didn’t even have the decency to say her name.— Jeneisha Harris (@JeneishaCHarris) September 23, 2020
Breonna Taylor’s younger sister, Ju’Niyah Palmer, simply said in a tweet, “I am sorry sister.”
