Gokada Assistant Charged With Murder

Gokada Assistant Charged With Murder

Tyrese Haspil and Fahim Saleh

Tyrese Devon Haspil, the former personal assistant to the CEO of Gokada, Fahim Saleh, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

According to the NYPD (New York Police Department) officers, the body of the 33-year-old CEO was found at his New York apartment dismembered with the headless, limbless body lying next to an electric saw. It is said that Haspil used a taser before fatally stabbing Saleh on Monday, July 13th. Haspil then allegedly used Saleh’s credit cards to pay for cleaning equipment meant to sanitize the crime scene.

Haspil was said to have abandoned the scene when he heard someone entering the apartment. Saleh’s cousin had come to the apartment after Saleh did not return her calls and discovered his lifeless body.

NYPD says 21-year-old Haspil stole money from his former boss and owed Saleh tens of thousands of dollars. Saleh found out but failed to report it to the police, instead, he created a repayment plan for the money to be returned.

CCTV footage from the building Saleh lived may have caught his last moments. It showed Saleh entering the elevator and then a man wearing a mask and a hat on Monday.

The family of the accused has stated that although Haspil might have had a difficult childhood, he has never been violent.

Behind The Lens With A Nigerian Photographer: Oye Diran

Oye Diran

Oye Diran's work speaks for itself. The Nigerian photographer's artwork has been featured in Vogue ITALIA and Afropunk. His latest project, "A Ti De" (we have arrived), explores vintage Yoruba fashion from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Seeing that the Yoruba tribe is one of the largest in Nigeria, it was no surprise to see tens of thousands of Nigerians resonating with his artwork when he debuted it on Nataal back in March.
